Xbox 360 Crash Reports

Thursday, November 24th, 2005

A bunch of reports are being posted on the net of the Xbox 360 crashing. The screen grab comes from a video you can find here, showing the system freezing with lovely static lines through the image.
Lets hope it’s a software bug, and not a physical issue.

For fans of podcasts and DRM free music (and lets face it, who isn’t ;)), then listeners are in for a treat.
A friend of mine and fellow podcaster, Jade Leary, has just released his latest album in a digital pack format. What does that mean, well you can grab the whole album in 160kbps VBR […]

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2005

I mentioned in yesterday’s podcast that I was intererested in the price the Xbox 360 was selling for on eBay, and believed that they would go up in price. Well, instead of picking one up for about $800, today you can grab one for over $1000. In fact some are going for over two grand!

Sony Kryptonite

Thursday, November 10th, 2005

The fall out continues for Sony with more legal action in train. I think the most articulate response is by a good friend, Simon Phipps. Check out his blog post titled Another “Kryptonite” case?.

Podcasting Survey

Thursday, November 10th, 2005

Every so often TPN runs a survey. This is really important from a couple of points of view. Firstly, it helps TPN focus where we you want us to focus. Secondly, it proves to interested parties that podcasting is viable as a business venture. That second point means that we are able to focus where […]

Sony’s Malware

Wednesday, November 9th, 2005

I’m loving the fallout from Sony’s XCP copy protection software.
To boil it down, Sony has placed some software on its audio CDs. This software uses subversive methods to plant itself on your computer so that it can prevent you from making more than three backup copies of any XCP-protected CD. Lets state this plainly. Sony, […]
