NASA really do have the best gadgets (one just hopes no more of them will break!).
Btw, you’ll have to tell us all in #24 how long after being BoingBoinged your servers melt! :)

Questions for the guest that weren’t asked:
- evolution of communications from early days to today?
- what it must have been like for earlier crews to be out of touch for sometimes an hour or more?
- status of TDRS network?
bitrate of TDRS services?
- internet on the shuttle?
- Why comm dropouts on TDRS today? Safety issue?
- Comm backups - UHF. HF also?
- Use of Amateur Radio (backup to all the backups?)
- Control center: what is it like working there?
- Something about him…background, education, interests. How did he get the job?
- What is the orange colored control stack that’s at each console?
- What’s the sense of the program now that they’ve had a successful launch and entry after the last disaster?

It hit the fan. Just talking.
You may recall a week or so ago I mentioned something about being given privileged information and thrown directly into the middle of a giant mess, well, as anticipated the situation reach its climax today. I now have three people not happy with me on …

Hi,
Just to say I downloaded your Podcast for the interview with William Foster. You are ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE at interviewing, you’re seriously lucky the guy knew how to talk.
A total waste of the chance to speak with someone with so much interesting material to say.
Sorry, I won’t be listening again.
Chris.

Thanks for the REALLY constructive criticism Chris!
I’m glad you won’t be listening again. I wouldn’t want to waste your valuable time.
I intentionally let William talk without interrupting him, because he had so much to say. I mentioned to him that I hope to have him back on the show, at which point I’ll be able to get into more detail, and INTERVIEW him in more detail.
Next time you point out how bad I am, perhaps giving me some useful information to help improve. You’re ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE at posting comments.
