Andrew,

I used to have a billing address in the USA and I purchased the audiobook in the UK and listened to it in the UK. Then when I changed my billing address to the UK, I was really confused that I could no longer find the book on audible.com, as I wanted to send a link to a friend. I found out that due to different publishing deals in different countries, some audiobooks are only available in certain countries. Getting Things Done is one of the books that’s not available in the UK, at the moment.

Apart from getting yourself a US billing address, I don’t think that there’s a solution. I recommend reading the book rather then listening. I’ve listened to the audiobook lots of times and own the book but have not read it. From looking at the book, I think that I would get a lot out of reading it since it has more information and diagrams.

I hope this helps you to accept the hopelessness of the the situation ;)

Perhaps you could buy a rental investment property in Florida and use that as a billing address for a US credit card? :)

I was interested in listening to the audiobook on www.audible.com

However it says they cannot sell this to me because I live in the UK. Has anyone else had this problem ?

BTW Richard, I should mention that the full peermalink to this show seems to break when I try to cite you in a href. It seems the quote marks in:

the-“gadget-show”-podcast…featuring-david-allen/

Break the URL completeley. My solution was to simply show the following link, minus that last bit with the quite marks:

http://www.thepodcastnetwork.com/gadget/2005/03/05/

That seemed to solve the problem. Might want to look into your archive setup there, since others may not know to remove that last filename bit.

Richard, a very insightful interview. I’ve just started re-reading GTD and really implementiong the ideas this week, so hearing your podcast while shoveling snow was a great experience!

I don’t know how you managed to land David, but I appreciate that you did and shared it with us.

I have only recently been intoduced to the concepts behind GTD. This interview clarified a lot for me, the GTD-newbee. I am seriously considering buying the book.
